UPS was horrible. First they announced the expected delivery and then they kept my wife waiting entire day and in the end did NOT deliver without any notice (!). The next morning only they advised the changed expected delivery date (!) and this time it was successful. The whole day waisted, no chance to call the courier. Awful experience! Arrogant bastards.

G.D. Vajra to rodzinna winiarnia położona w jednym z najlepszych regionów winiarskich na świecie - Barolo. Została założona w 1972 roku przez Giuseppe Domenico, który dał swoje inicjały do nazwy winnicy, a obecnie jest pod wzorowym przywództwem jego syna, Aldo Vajra.Winiarnia znajduje się w miejscowości Vergne, jednym z najwyższych punktów w regionie Barolo. Był to jeden z pierwszych producentów w Piemoncie, który przyjął praktyki ekologiczne i stosuje tradycyjną metodę starzenia Nebbiolo w dużych słowiańskich beczkach. Wino Coste di Rose leżakowało 25 miesięcy, zanim było gotowe do butelkowania.
Rezultatem jest zdumiewające, wyraziste wino, z nosem płatków róży, wiśni, tymianku i obróconej ziemi. Winogrona Nebbiolo były uprawiane na piaszczystej glebie Coste di Rose, jednego z najbardziej stromych wzgórz Barolo. Nebbiolo dojrzewa tutaj idealnie, nadając temu winu jedwabiste, wyraźne taniny i soczyste odczucie w ustach. Na podniebieniu pojawiają się elementy czerwonej wiśni, z nutami mięty, malin i mineralności mokrej skały. Prowadzi to do długiego finiszu, z dalszymi nutami płatków róży. To Barolo będzie doskonałym połączeniem z bogatymi, aromatycznymi mięsami, takimi jak pieczona gęś, dziczyzna lub gęste grzybowe risotto.

This is an astounding, expressive wine, with a nose of rose petals, cherry, thyme and turned soil. The Nebbiolo grapes were grown in the sandy soil of Coste di Rose, one of Barolo's steepest hills. Nebbiolo ripens perfectly here, giving this wine silky, pronounced tannins and a juicy mouthfeel. There are elements of red cherry on the palate, with notes of mint, raspberry and wet rock minerality. This leads to a lengthy finish, with further hints of rose petals. This Barolo will be an excellent pairing for rich, flavourful meats
