Rupert & Rothschild została założona w 1997 roku jako partnerstwo barona Edmonda de Rothschilda ze słynnej rodziny winiarskiej Rothschild we Francji i lokalnego południowoafrykańskiego przedsiębiorcy dr Antona Ruperta. Winiarnia znajduje się na cichej farmie Franschhoek u podnóża góry Simonsberg, gdzie panują idealne warunki do produkcji wina premium przy użyciu francuskich technik uprawy winorośli i międzynarodowych odmian winogron, takich jak Chardonnay i Merlot.
Dziś winiarnia została przekazana nowemu pokoleniu obu rodzin i nadal produkuje doskonałe wina w eleganckim stylu Starego Świata. Baroness Nadine powstaje w 100% z owoców Chardonnay pochodzących z najlepszych winnic na Przylądku Zachodnim. Owoce są zbierane ręcznie i fermentowane w połączeniu betonowych jaj, foudres i 300-litrowych beczek z francuskiego dębu. Po 11 miesiącach leżakowania w tych samych naczyniach na osadzie drożdżowym wino jest butelkowane, a kilka miesięcy później wypuszczane na rynek.
W kieliszku przyjemny złoty odcień z nutami wiciokrzewu, trawy cytrynowej i dojrzałych brzoskwiń w nosie. Pierwszy łyk ujawnia bogatą, kremową konsystencję, średnie ciało i długi finisz z nutami pikantnych cytrusów, prażonych migdałów, a nawet świeżego chrupiącego chleba. Świetnie pasuje do świeżych owoców morza, grillowanych ryb i pieczonego kurczaka.

The winery was founded in 1997 as a partnership between Baron Edmond de Rothschild from the famous Rothschild winemaking family in France and local South African entrepreneur Dr Anton Rupert. Baroness Nadine is crafted from 100% Chardonnay fruit sourced from prime vineyards on the Western Cape. The fruit is harvested by hand and fermented in a combination of concrete eggs, foudres and 300 litre French oak barrels. After 11 months of ageing in these same vessels on the lees the wine is bottled and then released a few months later. In the glass there’s a pleasing golden hue with hints of honeysuckle, lemongrass and ripe peaches on the nose. The first sip reveals a rich, creamy texture, medium body, and long finish with notes of zingy citrus, toasted almonds and even fresh crusty bread

overall i had a positive experience, they have a wide range of wines, some which are hard to find anywhere else - the main reason i still buy from them, plus the discounts are fair and often, but... their codes for the first offer only works at the first offer, which if fine, but then why would you send me the voucher in each package i order, why spam me on the email and every time i log in on the website? this is really bothering me... then their rewards points system is useless, first of all because you only get peanuts even after spending €250 on an order, but even those peanuts will expire if you won't order again soon, which is unfair, to say the least... and lastly, if you get a corked wine, a wine with any deffect or a wine that leaked (my last order contained a bottle of $100 Caymus Cabernet with a leaking cork, which made the wine tasted cooked and flat), they have no procedure put in place for you to replace or return the wine or to get a refund or replacement - none, which is a big no no no for any wine collector... so all in all i give it 3 stars for now
