    Wspaniały Chateau Fonreaud ma oszałamiającą lokalizację w najwyższym punkcie Medoc. Pierwotnie posiadłość nosiła nazwę Font-réaux, co oznacza "Królewska Fontann"A. Według lokalnej legendy, w XII wieku król Anglii pił ze źródła znajdującego się na tym terenie. W 1962 roku posiadłość została zakupiona przez Leo Chanfreau, algierskiego winiarza, który przystąpił do odbudowy posiadłości i ulepszenia winnic.Dziś jest ona prowadzona przez drugie i trzecie pokolenie rodziny, które opiekuje się około 38 hektarami winorośli obsadzonych głównie Cabernet Sauvignon i Merlot.
