Matusko wina

The Matusko Winery is in the Pelješac peninsula, also known as "the oasis of red wine." The family-owned winery, specifically, is located in Potomje, a settlement in Croatia, on the South Coast of the country. In addition to producing an array of red and white wines, the Matusko Winery also produces a selection of high quality olive oils, a favourite add-on amongst visitors to the tasting room. The Matusko Winery wines are easily identified by their unique labelling which features the illustration of two donkeys. The Matusko Winery is renowned for producing quality red wines, largest derived from the Plavac Mali grapes. These grapes, which are the primary red wine grapes that are grown along the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia, are a cross between Dobričić and Crljenak Kaštelanski grapes. In the Croatian language, the word "mali" means small while the word "plavo" means blue. This particular variety are small, blue grapes is responsible for the dry quality of the smooth, well-balanced red wines that are produced by the Matusko Winery.
