A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Lafon-Rochet to doskonałe wino z Bordeaux, które w kieliszku ma żywy rubinowy kolor. W nosie można wyczuć aromaty czerwonych i fioletowych kwiatów, cassis, bogatej krwistej pomarańczy i grafitowej mineralności. Jest to w większości mieszanka Cabernet Sauvignon, z 26% Merlot i po 4% Cabernet Franc i Petit Verdot, wszystkie zebrane z lewego brzegu Gironde, w regionie Saint-Èstephe.
    Historia Chateau Lafon-Rochet sięga XVI wieku, co czyni ją jedną z najstarszych posiadłości w Saint-Èstephe. Od lat sześćdziesiątych XX wieku jest to firma rodzinna: najpierw należała do rodziny Tesseron, która odnowiła zamek i zbudowała dwie nowe piwnice; w 2021 roku został przejęty przez rodzinę Lorenzetti, która od tego czasu rządzi.
    Ta mieszanka Bordeaux uderza w podniebienie mieszanką czarnych i niebieskich owoców - wiśnia, czarna porzeczka, kakao i przyprawa do pieczenia mieszają się z ostrzejszymi nutami eukaliptusa i lukrecji. Taniny są drobnoziarniste, a po 16 miesiącach starzenia w 50% nowych beczkach dąb jest subtelny i dobrze zintegrowany. Jest to doskonałe wino do łączenia z osso bucco, pieczonym kurczakiem lub grzybami.
