    Saffredi is the crown jewel of Fattoria Le Pupille. Fresh herbs waft from the neck of this Tuscan red wine. Rosemary, thyme, mint and bay leaf mingle with tart black fruits, such as blackcurrant and blackberry, and layers of spice. It is a bright ruby colour in the glass, hinting towards its vibrant character. It exhibits a focused array of red fruits on the palate, strawberry, cassis and raspberry giving way to hints of baking spice and balsamic. It is rich and round, with chewy tannins and a prominent vein of acidity that elevates the underlying flavours of fresh herbs. The grapes spent 18 months maturing in barrels of new French oak, yet the wood is still subtly integrated, allowing the fruits to shine through
