A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    G.D. Vajra's Barbera d'Alba to wspaniała ekspresja klasyka z Piemontu, prezentująca bukiet kwaśnych czerwonych wiśni, śliwek i płatków fiołka, któremu towarzyszą pikantne nuty przypraw i ziemi. W kieliszku ma królewski purpurowy odcień. Wino to zostało wyprodukowane w 100% z winogron Barbera pochodzących z różnych terroir w regionie Alba w Piemoncie.Chociaż sama winiarnia została założona w 1972 roku przez Aldo Vajrę, ówczesnego studenta uniwersytetu, rodzina ma znacznie dłuższą historię w północnych Włoszech, sięgającą około 200 lat. Aldo był jednym z pionierów ekologicznej uprawy winorośli w Piemoncie - na 60 hektarach winnicy G.D. Vajra jest w pełni ekologiczna od 2019 roku.
    Ta Barbera jest średnio treściwa i soczysta na podniebieniu, z wirującymi smakami wiśni, jeżyn, dzikiej róży i pikantnym akcentem czarnego pieprzu. Żywa kwasowość i gładkie taniny tworzą rześkie i chrupiące odczucie w ustach, z długim, aromatycznym finiszem. Poszczególne winnice były fermentowane oddzielnie, a cała mieszanka leżakowała przez 5 miesięcy w stali nierdzewnej przed butelkowaniem. Jest to wszechstronne wino, idealne do łączenia z pizzą, makaronem pomidorowym lub grillowanymi mięsami.
