A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Le Guaite di Noemi to mała rodzinna firma położona w najwyższej części wzgórz Mezzane di Sotto, 500 metrów nad poziomem morza, pomiędzy górami Lessini i jeziorem Garda. Winiarnia została założona w 1997 roku, kiedy Stefano Pizzighella postanowił poświęcić się winu, oprócz już rozpoczętej produkcji oliwy. Cała posiadłość rozciąga się na ponad 10 hektarach winnic; od 2016 roku córka Stefano, Noemi, która dołączyła do firmy w 2010 roku, założyła swoją wytwórnię Le Guaite di Noemi, z winogronami pochodzącymi z około 3 hektarów.Wino jest mieszanką lokalnych winogron Corvina, Rondinella i Corvinone z niewielkimi dodatkami Oseleta i Croatina. Po suszeniu winogron przez około miesiąc i fermentacji w kontrolowanej temperaturze z wybranymi drożdżami, gotowe wino dojrzewa przez około 36 miesięcy we francuskim dębie, a następnie kolejne 24 miesiące w butelce.
    Valpolicella Superiore z Le Guaite di Noemi ma intensywny rubinowo-czerwony kolor z refleksami granatu. Jego profil aromatyczny jest dojrzały z nutami jagód, porzeczek, wiśni i śliwek, a następnie nutami śródziemnomorskich ziół i fiołków. Na podniebieniu jest miękkie i ma dobrą koncentrację smaków. Kwasowość jest dobrze zbalansowana, a taniny jedwabiste. Finisz jest długi. Jest to idealne wino do makaronów z sosem, pieczeni wołowej i bogatych zimowych zup.
